Lab 1 — Git & GitHub Workflow

Goal

Create a repository history that a reviewer can understand.

Tasks

  1. Clone or initialize the provided repository.
  2. Create a feature branch named after a small issue.
  3. Make two or more coherent commits.
  4. Push the branch and open a pull request.
  5. Describe the change, test evidence, and linked issue.
  6. Request review, respond to feedback, and merge according to the course workflow.

Evidence to submit

  • Repository/PR link.
  • Screenshot or copied output of the automated checks if configured.
  • One paragraph explaining how the commit history was organized.

Reflection

What information would be lost if all work were delivered as one large final commit?
